The Brewery
Not many things in life are better than spending time with family and friends. While gatherings often result in sharing a beer, Kindred Spirit Brewing was founded by a group of friends with the goal of crafting beers that serve as the catalyst rather than the byproduct of bringing people together..
Stop by and visit our friendly staff after a long day and enjoy a variety of beers from over 14 taps. With a relaxing taproom and three different outdoor spaces, you can sit and enjoy a Kindred Spirit with your kindred spirit.

John Barefoot

Favorite beers: Headspace, because it gets in my head’s space.
Why KSB? Derrr, trying all of the beers…oh yeah, and the great family that makes it all possible.
Down time: At the Rivah on a boat catching limit during rockfish season…or gardening oysters.
Dream vacation: Wherever Heather answers, but if she left this blank…Ireland, because it’s awesome and makes Ross jealous!! But he may be there with me as part of this question and that is great. Cheers!

Favorite beers: Tropical Express & Lucid very close.
Why KSB? Creating memorable experiences with people and really good beer is the perk of the business that I enjoy the most.
Down time: Playing Tennis, or on the water at Rivah or OBX.
Dream vacation: If someone gave you an all-inclusive trip (plane, hotel, food) where would you go? African Safari trip.

Why KSB? Family. It was started as a place where friends and family can hang out and enjoy outstanding craft beer!
Down time: On a ski slope or a golf course.
Dream vacation: Switzerland.

Favorite beers: 3 way tie, Headspace, Merry and Bright and Day Drinking. I like to switch it up.
Why KSB? I love our customers which have turned into family. I have met some of the best people through the brewery that have become life time friends.
Down time: Out in the yard or garden.
Dream vacation: Bora Bora.

Why KSB? Coming up with new and interesting (beer) recipes for people (and myself) to enjoy.
Down time: Enjoying time with my wife and son wherever we are!
Dream vacation: Either back to Brussels or somewhere new like Rome.

Why KSB? Exploring artistic expression and creativity with recipe development to bring RVA some incredible beer experiences.
Down time: On one of the many disc golf courses around town #AllGoldDiscGolf.
Dream vacation: I would go back to Monaco for the most iconic Formula 1 race on the circuit…also wine, cheese and prosciutto.

Favorite beers: Always can go for a Headspace but can never pass on a Paid In Full either. One of my one off favorites was Back in the Day IPA.
Why KSB? Well…there’s the beer…oh and what better place to do some people watching.
Down time: Spending time with my wife exploring a vast amount of Virginia breweries, wineries, cideries and distilleries. After church on Sunday of course.
Dream vacation: Ireland. Been trying/planning to get there since 2000.

Favorite beers: Call me old-fashioned, but give me a Headspace.
Why KSB? The family feel and drive to create a great space for local craft beer drinkers to have a great time. Oh, and the stellar beer, duh!
Down time: Find me in a backyard with friends and dogs or at localy owned restaurants in Midlothian/Richmond.
Dream vacation: Ski in / ski out Mountain and Colorado.

Why KSB? The work environment and getting to know the regulars that come in.
Down time: Watching movies or shows on the couch.
Dream vacation: Hawaii.

Favorite beers: Tie between Headspace and Spacehead.
Why KSB? Love the KSB family – which includes the people on both sides of the bar.
Down time: Either the gym or the other side of the KSB bar with his wife and son.
Dream vacation: Anywhere with palm trees, a sandy beach and warm, salty air.

Why KSB? I love interacting with all of our guests, you will almost always find me behind the bar laughing!
Down time: On the weekends if i’m not working (rare) you’ll find me somewhere in the city on a patio in the sun with friends, or at the river!
Dream vacation: Turks & Caicos! i’ll find my way there eventually!
